Dear Ms. Pelletier:
I am writing this letter in order to apply for the Summer Student Development Coordinator position that is offered. I have learned about this position while searching for job opportunities throughout the community, members of the youth council handed me the job description when I went to the youth center. I am currently studying at McGill University in order to become an elementary teacher andI would be very motivated to work with youth this summer since it would be a plus to my experiences towards my diploma.
As a future teacher, I am very interested in this job because I believe it would help me to get to know the youth of Mistissini, it would enable me to learn a lot about their interests and motivations on a personal level. This opportunity that I would get to interact with the youth could also be greatly rewarding in the future because I am hoping to work in the community following my graduation. I would be suitable for this position because I am an independent worker, I do not need a constant supervision to make sure I am doing what should be done. I also have good leadership skills; I am able to take initiative and control of a situation when something needs be done. Another one of my strengths is that each of the previous jobs I have had has allowed me to develop and improve my communication skills which now allow me to communicate well in my environment. Finally, my main focus this summer is to earn enough money to pay for my school tuition and expenses so I would definitely be able to work flexible hours.
To conclude, I would like to mention that I would be glad to provide you with any additional information that you may need regarding this application. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Marilyn Filion
